ICE CREATIVE

ICE Creative Youth is a cross-border high school event which aims to encourage young students in influencing their own future. In this event we introduce the method of “Design Thinking” and invite managers of local businesses to work with the students on solving societal challenges.

ICE HYBRID RELEASE PARTY

The Hybrid Release Party is an onsite and online event to kick-start ICE. It's a common arena for exchanging experiences and identify new business opportunities. The participants get to enhance their competence, expand their networks, including team-building activities and dinner.

ICE BRAIN

BOOSTER

The ICE Brain Booster event supports continuous learning for owners and managers of established businesses in the Barent Region. The theme and content will be tailored to a specific sector to ensure the relevance and outcome for the participants. The event motivates and challenges the existing ways of how things are done.

ICE INNOVATION FESTIVAL

The ICE innovation festival is the main and concluding event of the project. The participants will go through the design thinking methodology and will be challenged to use this approach in solving a societal challenge recognizable to local communities across the borders in the Barents Region.

The ICE EVENTS concept is owned and developed in collaboration between the Norwegian Barents Secretariat and Sør-Varanger Utvikling (SVU). The Barents Secretariat is responsible for the overall project, including management and finances. SVU is responsible for the project concept and it’s development.

The Norwegian Barents Secretariat is an inter-municipal company, funded primarily by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and aimed at promoting Norwegian-Russian cooperation in the North. Every year, the secretariat allocates grants to Norwegian-Russian cross-border cooperation projects, involving areas like culture, sports, education, business, youth, media and civil society, environment and indigenous people.

The ICE EVENTS management team consists of a project manager and two ICE team members provided by the Barents Secretariat, and two ICE team members provided by SVU.  As ICE is an international cross-border project, we are dependent on competent, diverse, and efficient project partners who has extensive networks within their regions. In this project there are partners with different functions and responsibilities. The partners of the project are educational institutions, civil society organizations, municipal development companies and business development companies.
